| Tikkun Magazine and the Network of Spiritual Progressives (NSP) are recruiting interns for spring, summer and/or fall, and/or the Sept-June academic year. Interns can apply to work in one of the areas below: **Tikkun Magazine Interns read submissions, proof copy, work on outreach and marketing for the magazine, send out mailings to authors, contributors and publishers, do basic database tasks and support the production editor throughout the production cycle, and interface with the managing editor and editor in chief for special projects and assignments. To learn more about Tikkun magazine, read our website www.Tikkun.org. **The Global Marshall Plan We advocate dedicating 1-2% of US GDP each year for the next twenty to once and for all end domestic and global poverty, homelessness, hunger, inadequate education and inadequate health care. Read the Q&A about our plan at www.Tikkun.org. Interns contact public officials, seek signatures of endorsement from the public, and seek potential donors or supporters to increase public awareness and institutional mobilization behind the GMP. **Political Parties: Outreach We wish to introduce our ideas into the various political parties. Interns can become active in local parties and present our “Spiritual Covenant with America” and our Global Marshall Plan as part of advocating for our “New Bottom Line” to replace materialism and selfishness with love, generosity, ecological and ethical sensitivity, and awe and wonder at the grandeur of the universe. Interns can attend the state and local conventions to do outreach and organize a “spiritual progressive” caucus in whatever party they choose. Interns will help in outreach to delegates and to media. As a non-profit, we do not endorse any particular candidate or party. **Limmud Interns will work on preparing a week-long study session of spiritual progressive ideas and texts and a national celebration of a politics based on love, generosity, kindness, awe and wonder at the grandeur of the universe. **Healing Israel/Palestine Tikkun and the NSP have been major forces trying to reshape American discourse about the Middle East toward a "Progressive Middle Path" that is BOTH pro-Israel AND pro-Palestine, recognizing that both sides have a legitimate historical narrative and that both sides need to turn from violence to a new ethos of generosity and open-hearted repentance for the cruelty and hurt they have inflicted on each other. Interns work to promote public acceptance of our views. **Network of Spiritual Progressives (NSP)-an interfaith organization that is also welcoming to "spiritual but NOT religious" atheists or aganostics-- interns work with the Director of National Programs for the NSP on trainings, web development, and network outreach supporting spiritual activism intended to effect tikkun olam at the local and regional level. Interns will help us build a network community of dedicated spiritual activism practitioners and to construct the electronic home for that community as it grows. Read our Core Vision at www.spiritualprogressives.org or Rabbi Michael Lerner's book The Left Hand of God. **Operations and Development Interns work with the Director of Operations to conduct membership growth and funding campaigns for the NSP and to manage all ongoing customer and donor/supporter relations. Interns work with multiple databases for communications and outreach; they also support quick turnaround projects for mailings, funding appeals, and projects related to budgets, tactical operations, and supporter mobilizations. **Website and Computer Management Interns develop new ideas and implement them to make our websites more accessible, exciting, and incorporating the newest elements of design and electronic uses to spread our ideas. **Art and Design Interns help us assemble the best artists and art for issues of the magazine and for publications of the Network of Spiritual Progressives, including their own design ideas or their own art if appropriate. See the magazine at www.tikkun.org to get some ideas of what we’ve tried in the past. www.tikkun.org **Rabbi Michael Lerner’s Assistant Interns work directly with Michael Lerner on projects including Israel-Palestine, events and concerns relevant to the Tikkun Community and outreach to the Jewish community, intellectual research for ML's writing and support for his travel and speaking. **Beyt Tikkun and the Spiritual Torah Commentary Interns work with Rabbi Lerner to help create a spiritually based and politically progressive synagogue in San Francisco and in Berkeley, and on researching spiritual commentaries on each week's Torah portions.
